Making and sharing recipes is way harder than it needs to be. Seriously.

On Instagram, recipes look like this:

And it’s even worse on messaging platforms:

This is so ugly, unintuitive, and so easily forgettable.

We are in 2026. We can do better.

Why not an app

Because not everything needs to be an app.

I want simple, ephemeral creation of recipes with the immediate call to action to share these recipes.

No hassle, no login, no setup.

What is Cookbook not?

Let’s start with what it isn’t.

It isn’t:

• a calorie tracking app
• an accurate calorie tracking app
• a recipe app to store your recipes in a collection (yet.. we’ll see if people want this)

So, what is Cookbook?

With Cookbook, you can:

• easily create recipes,
• add ingredients (in any language),
• get a rough estimation of macros,
• share it with your friends.

That’s literally it.

Your friends can copy the recipe if they want to and add edits. Or, they can just download an image and save it on their phone.

When you message someone, Cookbook intelligently shows a macro preview:

At Cookbook, we also know that you track your calories with much more accurate platforms.

As such, we have a “Copy Meal Description” that copies it such that you can paste it other apps such as Macrofactor.
